How to make an on-site paging system cover large areas

Here in the UK the output power of any regular paging system as used by the public is limited by OFCOM. Firstly, there are many cheap systems that have a maximum of just 10Mw output - and that's as powerful as a car remote! The professional systems like those sold by Long Range Solutions (LRS) have substantially more output power - up to 2 Watts. But sometimes over large sites that need coverage, even that output power of the regular transmitters is inadequate. When the range becomes an issue, messages can be scrambled or garbled and make no sense, so its imperative to solve those issues.

The TX-7471 Signal Boost Repeater Transceiver

A signal booster like the TX-7471 Unit is not just a transmitter; It has to receive a signal that needs boosting, and also it has to transmit a replica of the incoming signal but at full power. These devices are known as transceivers, they transmit AND receive but not at the same time. We have a capability of extending pager range through the use of these signal boost repeaters. Instead of using a POCSAG protocol that cannot be repeated, we utilize a proprietary protocol. This allows us to repeat the signal indefinitely giving our pagers the best range in the industry. Extended Long Range Repeater are only for LRS Paging Systems and they don't work with other brands.

Our TX-7471 Repeater has the highest output allowed in the UK. And importantly it is possible to use more than one of these signal repeaters on a site, thus overcoming any problems where there would otherwise be range issues - as many other brands have problems with. This transceiver can message all LRS pagers whether alpha text, the service pager, customer or guest pager or any combination on-site.

We program these units before they are shipped to customers and installation comprises of plugging in the unit near the end of range... and that's it!
