Professional offices need quality communications. Efficiency with clients is paramount.

One of the most important aspects of business is communications. Communication is the backbone of any company and how effective it is, is largely dependent on the systems in place and how they are used. Firstly staff communication that is simple, understandable by all users, and highly effective sounds easy to achieve, but in reality often there might be solutions in use that are less than good. And that can result in a disjoined organisation with inefficiency high up there in percentage terms.

Staff to staff communication

One of the important things about text messaging with a pager is that it is still the most reliable method of on-site communications even today. Often seen as 'old or archaic' forms of communication nothing could be further from the truth. Paging systems have no underlying third party service - like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth that can fail. Often also there is no reliable mobile phone service that can on some solutions stop important communications. Paging systems typically use 'RF' communications rather like a wireless signal so the messaging once installed properly will be excellent. Usually there is a need in professional offices for individual , groups or everyone to me messaged and most paging solutions have that ability. It is possible to install an application (that operates from a browser) to monitor and create records of the messaging to staff (or customers for that matter) for later analysis. Range can vary dependent on the building composition, but often there are 'boosters' that can extend the range even to the size of massive warehouses so usually professional office environments are easier to cover.

Client to staff solutions

There are many systems designed for customers or clients use, maybe to recall them, but just as importantly for clients to contact staff members if they need some sort of assistance. Custom call buttons are perfect for this situation. Whether you might want them in reception, or in meeting rooms for special use while in meetings or other uses that might be applicable. Custom call buttons or PFS buttons are usually used where they are client facing and the aesthetics become important. They can also be customised to include things like company logo or other text. Messages can work up to around 150 metres, but there are 'boost' devices that extend range substantially further. And if you really don't need fully customised units then there are calling buttons with 6 separate and programmable buttons so often those can be used for a multiple number of different communications types. Emergency, tea and coffee for the meeting room, notify staff outside the room for different tasks and much more.

Security communications

Some professional offices need very high levels of security and others maybe not so intense. Security and safety are pretty much packaged together in times where it might be difficult to foresee some of the potential issues that you might have to handle. But there is one solution that is pretty much used throughout the security and safety areas of business and that is two-way radios or 'walkie talkies' as some call them. So why are these devices so prevalent? It's simple, its because they work perfectly for this type of application. Consider that usually there are a number of security staff and often they are at distance to each other. Audio communications that are instant are the best method for that communication and action can be taken immediately if there are any incidents. The security remains paramount in turbulent times so ensuring that those communications are perfect is essential. Wireless radio handsets have moved forward in leaps and bounds over recent years and no longer the old analogue systems are there except by heritage. Today the solution tends to be digital communications or DMR, and those allow far more features and benefits from the handsets.  As always the choice of handset becomes important and so speak to an expert if you need guidance for choice of two-way radio.

Safety of staff

While there are many products that can help staff with first aid and health and safety aspects of the business (the Pronto from LRS UK is one device) here consideration to security staff safety is discussed. Security staff are often in the 'danger zone' simply because the security of the business is hazardous at times. But how can you ensure that staff are safe while in the precarious position of maybe being attached or worse? Well, those very same two way radios have other features that are PERFECT for ensuring the safety and welfare of the security personnel. There are two features that make things good for if there are problems as follows:

Lone worker

Simply put, if you have employees that work alone under your employment, then you have to supply adequate solutions in case there is danger to the employee. For example, as a security officer they might be attacked. While the two-way radios can communicate to each other there might be occasion when the security officer CANNOT communicate as he might want to as he is under threat. With lone worker features it is possible to locate his position, to even 'listen in' to the conversation, and many other important actions that are critical for those types of situation.

Man down

Often also included on current digital radios is a 'man down' feature. Imagine an employee is working in an area where there are no other staff (maybe even on the top if a sky scraper? So what would happen if the employee passes out? Man down features would spring in to action. For example if someone did fall over or pass out, the radio can send a notification to others and give the employee around 30 seconds to respond via the radio he is carrying. Failure to respond will enable an emergency to the other two way radios so other staff can respond and help.

While some of these features might or might not be applicable to professional offices, it is surprising how some of these communications methods fit neatly in to that environment and are used by many companies.

We trust that the above scenarios as described may be similar to some of the issues found in professional offices and please do contact our customer services for more information, guidance or even a free trial of the equipment that we have on offer.
