Why staff messaging is critical in enhancing service levels

Visit any store, retailer, restaurant, manufacturer, hospital or other sector that has poor messaging between staff and you will see first hand that the service levels are suffering. One example may be in a restaurant. The chef prepares the meal, puts it at the serving window for collection by the runners, then the food sits there and goes cold. No-one knew it was ready for delivery! Another example might be in some sort of emergency situation, but the system employed is inadequate to notify everyone. The results could be highly dangerous! What is needed is a very reliable, low cost, multi-message solution that is robust enough to take the knocks and blows of every day operations. Without those systems it's easy to see how the service levels (or other similar task) will slip, and sometimes to unacceptable levels causing the loss of customers. So what's the answer? The above service pager is called an SP6 and that is probably one of the most used pagers in restaurant kitchens throughout the world to tell runners or staff that the food is ready for delivery. But it could be almost ANY scenario. Today in 2026 the SP4 is replaced by the brand new SP6 with even improved features at the same price!

The SP6 service pager is most often used for restaurants kitchen to server or runner - but it can be used anywhere that service needs to be improved.

So lets examine the features of the service pager a little closer:

The SP6 Service Waiter Pager is the only on-site buzzer that features wireless programmability. This enables the user to easily change the number of any pager from the transmitter at their location. This feature is ideal for servers in restaurants eliminating the need for grease pencils and white boards. It is also the only rechargeable pager that utilizes a pager cradle instead of an attached belt clip. The pager cradle minimizes breakage limiting service costs and repair fees.

The service pager has the strongest vibration in the industry making it the workhorse of many industries including restaurants, nurseries, salons, and retail. In addition to its vibration alert, the LRS service pager has 4 messaging LED lights that will enhance communication.

The SP6 service pager or buzzer as they are often called, carries a three year manufacturers defect warranty for all non-corporate business customers and our failure rate is surprisingly low. And importantly, the clip on the pager itself is just that - a low cost clip that if it gets damaged costs just a few pounds to replace - its shown in the images.

But did you know this New SP6 can be used for customers too!

One of the features is that there are 4 Led's on the pager (marked 1 to 4) and those can be used to notify the user some specific information. Simply have a custom label on the unit explaining what each Led denotes and customers will follow the instructions. Here is an example in a hospital:

Led 1: Go to reception
Led 2: Go to consulting room 1
Led 3: Go to consulting room 2
Led 4: Go to X-ray Department

And surprisingly, although there are only 4 Led's it's possible to easily get EIGHT messages from the system. Of course when used with staff you can use the messaging system too; Led 1 might be kitchen, Led 2 might be FOH, Led 3 might be 'check the toilets', but they can be used of course for any task or reminder. Lastly for customers you might consider a paddle pager which is the SP4 pager in a different case and repurposed as a customer type of device.
