Ensuring that the customer pager has the right charging base for its type
LRS charging bases often look the same as each other particularly for their customer, guest or coaster pager chargers. There is an easy way to tell (if the charger is unlabelled) by taking a look at the power supply that was provided at the time the customer paging system was purchased. Older systems use an AC/AC type of power supply - and that is marked clearly on the power supply itself. If your power supply is an AC/AC type (these are usually large and heavy) then you need this type of charger base. Later equipment that is using the Li-ion batteries and newer pagers in the CS series need an AC/DC charging base. If your LRS power supply is an AC/DC type then this is the wrong charging base. For the AC/AC Output Charging Base
The patented design of the AC/AC CHARGER 8 allows you to place the coasters on to the stack in any direction. Charging is accomplished through nickel-plated charging pins located in each of the four corners. Each AC/AC CHARGER 8 has two jacks for cascading multiple chargers together using the 6" jumper wire included. The best thing about cascading chargers is that only one outlet is required for the power.
Recently LRS redesigned the coaster charger to work with a different power supply - from AC/AC to AC/DC and the bases are exclusive to each power supply type. Always be aware that features will change if you mix up the power supply on the coaster charger with old and new. The new AC/DC was introduced in 2023.
