It's always important to ensure parents can be contacted easily and that children are safe!
Most nurseries or crèche are already acutely aware that good communications with parents is essential for a multitude of reasons. Parents will worry about their kids its a fact of life. But today the world is not what it once was and ensuring that parents are contactable becomes essential. While mobile phones can work (we even have a system that can send SMS messages to mobile phones) sometimes there is no signal. But on-site pagers generally can cover an entire site and as for reliability? Pagers are actually the most reliable on-site messaging you can have, and they are NOT dependent on other underlying systems to operate.
If the nursery has security employees (most have) then security NEED walkie talkies or two way radios as they are known to communicate effectively and again, radios don't really need other services to work. In the event of a child being lost (or worse) those two-way radios would be a godsend.
Other things can happen and ensuring exits stay closed without children exiting without anyone knowing could be an issue. We created a special device that can protect up to SEVEN exits. If someone leaves through the protected doors then staff are notified by a message to a pager.
You cannot put a value on this equipment and how it could save sad situations from happening.
